Ezra Katz, a plein-air & studio impressionist painter was born in La Paz, BCS, Mexico in 1970. He began studying art at the age of seven, learning from several teachers who would come from Mexico City and stay at his family home for the summer. His formal education came from the University of Texas in Austin and Corpus Christi where he studied academic and commercial art. He captures the essence of cityscapes, landscapes and figures with fluidity and abstraction, branding his pieces with a unique punch.
Katz’s notoriety has sky-rocketed and collectors are taking notice. He was selected by Southwest Art Magazine as “Artist To Watch” in February 2003 and featured in their May 2007 issue. He is featured in Southwest Arts 2013 May edition(www.southwestart.com/featured/where-are-they-
now-may2013, and participated in Oil Painters of America Fredericksberg, Texas show22nd National Juried Exhibition. Ezra now makes his home in California and Mexico.
